About

Born in Denver Colorado, Dan grew up admiring the epic Western landscape images of Bierstadt, Turner and Adams. Subsequently, Dan became fascinated with Chinese landscape painting and calligraphy, motivating him to study Chinese in high school. Dan moved to Asia after college and lived in abroad for nearly 15 years, starting in Taipei to Beijing and spending six years in Hong Kong until 2020. Dan has worked as a printmaker at the LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies at Columbia University and studied Chinese calligraphy in both Taipei and Beijing. In the meantime he creates hyper-realist pencil, charcoal and ink drawings that integrate his interests in landscape painting and Asian aesthetic traditions.

Dan is a dual graduate of Columbia University and Columbia Business School. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles—with a full time Content Strategy role at Apple TV and—with his wife Katherine Don and three art-loving daughters.
